A family coloring session with Family Time

A shared coloring session needs a picture you both enjoy and a little room at the table. Family Time offers family activities with exactly two Cyzos in each illustration. Here is a flexible way to use those scenes together.

What to have ready

  • Your book and pencils or crayons you like using
  • Scrap paper to try color combinations
  • A clear place where both of you can reach the picture
  1. Choose the scene together

Start with the three previews on the book page. Look for an activity you both recognize, such as making pancakes, gardening or playing. In the book, pick a scene that makes you want to add colors.

  2. Make room at the table

Put the book on a clear table with pencils and a sheet of scrap paper for color trials. Agree whether you want to share one scene or work on separate pages in your own books.

  3. Find your part of the picture

Each Family Time illustration has two Cyzos. You could each choose a character, divide the background between you or take turns adding a color. Pick the arrangement that feels comfortable.

  4. Let the scene start a conversation

Try “What do you think happens next?” or “How would we make these pancakes?” You can invent a story or simply keep coloring. There is no need to finish every detail in one sitting.

  5. Leave a place to return to

When you are ready to stop, mark the page and put the pencils away. Next time you can continue the same picture or choose another pair of Cyzos.

One picture, different preferences

One person may enjoy larger areas while another prefers small details. Use the previews to judge the line work for yourselves.
